Real men glue everything together first and then mask for a week to paint something! We don’ need no estinkin’ instructions…

An’ as far as dat go, we decal before we paint. We decal any time we damwell feel like! Nobody tell us when to decal.

An’ as far as safety goes we glue in confined space all time. Until lights go pretty colours. An’ we smoke big cigar when we mix up thinners, ’cause we men. “

I clearly remember this dialogue from the movie ” Treasure Of Sierra Model ” when the Mexican bandidos start to cement kits in the saddle. It was a classic of the silver screen – a screen covered in glue blobs and paint fingerprints. More of an off-silver screen.

The advice is still good. slavish obedience is never a good thing, whether you are gluing together a model of the Golden Hind or defusing a 500Kg bomb. You have to boldly do what you feel is right and forge your own trail. After all, it’s your model, or bomb.
