I have three divisions of kits; Tuesday Mens Shed builds, home Little Workshop builds, and Saturday Historic Modelling Friends builds. I keep them as separate as painting requirements permit so that my pleasure in building them comes undiluted.
The HP Jetstream is the Saturday Historic Modelling Friends kit. I enjoy an invitation once a fortnight to visit another modeller’s house when a number of people gather round his modelling bench to work on our separate jobs. There is a good deal of eating, drinking, and talking.
The time to build is extended somewhat, but as we are not on a government contract here, the fun is just the same. It does allow a good time for the cements and paints to set.
The interior of the Jetstream is going to be built according to Airfix – the novelty of 6 stretchers hanging from the sidewalls of the cargo compartment is irresistible. I am also immensely impressed with the fold-out stairs and the seat that swings out sideways when the loading door is opened.

As it is to be a civilian job, I can use one of the extra pilots from the DH Heron Mk II.

I note as well the open nature of the wheel wells. This is no real obstacle to enjoyment as they are rarely seen. As long as the landing gear struts can truly lock in I am more than satisfied.
