As it is, the A de l’A version is pretty as hell and has enough stencilling to break up the broad silver. The rear areas are a little crude on my model, but all that needs on the next one is a bit of blending. I have often wondered if the designers were horrified at the way the jet engines fouled and baked the rear of the fuselage or whether they had factored this into their initial plans.

That’s French silver/grey by the way. A fortunate mixture that was initially concocted for other planes but is now being kept going like the perpetual Irish stew pot – every time I get near the end of a silver or grey I tip it into the jar and the paint takes on a new subtlety. It sprays beautifully.
