You want me to wait until the cement dries? You want me to avoid touching the varnish? What kind of people ARE you?
I sit, typing, when I could be busy spoiling a paint job or ruining a model by handling it too soon. The stress is killing me. I need to do something foolish and irreparable. If I don’t get to destroy the model I shall run amok!
So said the old me – the person who did the wrong thing and then re-enforced the error with another coat of varnish. Some of my models looked like they were encased in a sugar glaze. I would have made a great doughnut cook.
Times have changed, and I have decided that discretion and patience are the better part – if not of valour – at least of airbrushing. The current model is sitting under a gloss coat in the drying box – free from interference by wandering blow flies or desperate old men. So it may well sit until tomorrow, to give the varnish a good long time to settle, skin, and gas off. The decaling process will be a simple thing, with no silvering, and I will not sit weeping in the corner over a spoiled model.
What will I do? I will wash another kit’s parts and commence constructing it in my mind.
