Cessna Dragonfly – Part One – The Bagatelle

Some models leap off the shelf into your hand. Others cringe round to the back and must be got out with hooks. And some just call to you, but you don’t know why.

The Cessna A-37B was a kit I bypassed frequently, but one day I glanced at the price and noted that it was under $ 21. As an Academy kit, this recommended itself to me, and so it came home. I might add I have never yet been disappointed by an Academy kit.

The sprue trees were nearly perfect.

The decal sheet and instructions the same.

The idea lit up in my mind to make this the first ROKAF plane in the collection. I’d seen South Korean decals included in other Academy kits but bypassed them for other air forces – time to give the ROKs their due and build one of their kits in their own colours.

It proved to be a good choice as it enabled me to avoid the ugly refuelling probe of the USAF version.
