If ever I go to a peaceful, clean, cheap, and safe Europe, which is probably never, I hope to see Poland. And I hope to see the planes in the aviation museum in Krakow. One of which would be the PZL P.11c.

This kit has entirely turned around my regard for the Polish moulding industry. I shall stop judging by external appearances with the box art and go straight to the sprue trees for the goodness they offer.

The landing gear went on straight, and with enough support to keep the plane from keeling over as it ages. The seams were perfect – no filler anywhere. The pattern of lines was a little flawed on the top of the wing but in the end it has not detracted from the finished model.

The decals were superb – released readily, floated in without any tendency to curl, and dropped with no silvering at all. They might not have looked so flash on the paper sheet but they are wonderful as applied.

I will probably never see these models again on the market. I’ve built two of them for the Polish section of my collection and the back of the box teases more from the same firm – but these were a stash sale, so that is that. Let’s hope I’m just being pessimistic and there will be more imported.
