PZL 23b Karas – Part Two – L’Airfixe

At least that is what it seems. And I am not complaining at all.

The mould quality of the Heller kits seems to be of a piece with the better Airfix of the times. Of course there was a period when the two companies were aligned for business reasons but then went their separate ways. I have been encouraged very time I encounter one of their designs and will not hesitate to pick them up as buildable kits.

The cockpit deck fit is as good as one needs and the wing and tail fit is fine. The engine is on the detailed side for an injection mould, and all in all, the mechanics of this kit leave little to be desired. The low price means it comes as a frugal bonus.

The three instruction sheets encountered in this plane are interesting – the Mister Craft and Heller being the most different with the SK somewhere in between.

There has been some plagiarism, but not a lot – design elements have been moved and separated. You can clean up a lot on Photoshop.
