Gary has visited the Men’s Shed at the modelling club again – bringing his box of extremely inexpensive scale models with him. I am skint this month due to extra studio expenses but even so I was able to buy three models for $ 1 each!
This Polish TKS tankette kit is nowhere near as complex as the IBG example that I built earlier in the year. No interior, no photo etch, no paints, cement or brush. But for a dollar I get an earlier variant of the type and an afternoon on the net has found a clear wartime photograph of one of these captured and repainted – and it is a fresh paint job.

The modifications that were added by the German army are minimal, so I will have a chance for a companion to the IBG model that is authentic.
I note, as well, that the track-work of this model is supplied either as a vinyl band or separate injected plastic parts. No idea yet which will be the best choice, but the basic hull can be well along before I need to decide.

The best part of this is the fact that the other build was a thorough training ground for the shapes and assembly for this one. The instruction sheet is marginal but I have the previous one stashed away. Whether the tankettes will end up being the same size on the workshop floor is another matter, but for a single dollar, I am prepared to risk enjoying myself.
