If you don’t have enough materials to make a complete lower wing, just shrink it a bit and no-one will notice…
The sesqui-wing is a much-maligned design. I count several in my collection and they are nearly all sleek things. They lower wing is functional to some extent – much like the small wing that rides between the wheels, and at least the aviators have some place to sit in the shade when they are crashed.

Mind you, when I look at how sleek the design for the 622 is and then at the radiators perched on the landing gear struts…I guess the design bureau found themselves very close to closing time on a Friday afternoon and just took the shortest cut before the lights were turned off.

Heller kits are fun. They’re moulded simply, and are sturdy enough to allow for reasonably easy assembly. The prototypes are always interesting. Of course the company has had its own history of troubles, and that is sad, but the results when we can find the old kits are always rewarding.

For the modellers in the club who puzzle at the instructions, Google translations can sometimes get them into the parque du bal.

Note that the decals of this aircraft were not the very best that Heller ever made…but have gone down well enough to justify their application. If the kit ever comes round the corner again it can be Brazilian or Spanish Republican
