Hall Of Fame

I am starting to despair of ever getting into the Modelling Hall Of Fame. No matter how much I desire it, no-one pins a medal on my chest or shakes my hand.

The pedantic types point out that I don’t enter competitions. True, but that shouldn’t stop people from praising me. I think I am wonderful and that should be good enough for them. Too much emphasis on judging is just being judgemental. I have my hands full just being mental as it is…

Others have pointed out that if there are Halls Of Fame there are likely to be Halls Of Infamy as well. I know there are annals of it, because FDR mentioned that in a speech to the Congress once. I’m not sure where they pin the medals for infamy, but I’m guessing it’s not the chest.

I think my best bet will be to buy my way into the affections of the hobby. I have started already with a half dozen low-end kits from the exhibition stash pile and if I save up for a year I should be able to afford the after-market parts for them.

What I need in the meantime is a Mall Of Fame where I can hang out with the other cool kids until the shop owners call the cops. I’ll be the one under the statue of Lincoln, wearing my baseball cap backwards.
