Not the least puzzling aspect of which was the price – 33% of from a dealer’s table at a big local scale model exhibition. Why did people not snap this up before?
Well, I was not going to miss out on a new model for my Schmattarim Museum. This was the pick of the weekend for me. And AK kits are a solid sort of Czech short-run. If you keep your wits about you they turn out to be excellent.

Not too much detail in the engraved panel lines but enough to break the surface. Not polished moulds, however, so the entire aircraft is going to get a polishing cloth buffing before the undercoat. It won’t be bare metal finish, which helps a lot.

This can be a straight out of the box build for my purposes and I was pleased to see ti features my favourite IDF colours. I have just enough of the special-mix blue to complete the camouflage scheme and then I’ll have to spend and hour mixing another bottle – this time it will be a big one.

This won’t be a rushed job – it goes into the Historic Modelling Friends box and gets worked on once a fortnight. It’s a relaxed way to get a good paint finish with no hasty fingerprints.
