Boeing Dreamliner – Part One – Relict

An odd thing to see here on my page – given that I am not a fan of Russian products and do not normally model in 1/144 scale.

But it is the relict of a good club friend and I’ll build it as much in his memory as in the spirit of adventure.

Goodness knows there have been quite a few 1/144 scale aircraft kits in our local hobby shops – some of recognizable prototypes and some boxes of eastern mystery. The former sell now and the latter sell later at cut-throat prices, if they sell at all.

The moulding on this seems good, though I have seen few others with which to compare it. The surface looks to have a bit of ” tooth ” to it, so I shall reserve a 1000-grade surfacer for it. At least the windows look do-able.

The colour scheme for this demonstrator is impossibly complex – stripes and blended blues topped with flowing white. I may do some research and see if someone has made a more amenable scheme for it.

An economical experiment in any case.
