Not, apparently, to the people flying them. They call them ” Vipers “. And they ought to know…
This is my third F-16 - two others having been completed in 1/72 for the USAF and the IDF. I am starting to like the type a lot.

The Academy kit is simple, small, and well-moulded. The only change I would like to see is a better-fitting air scoop under the fuselage, and even this one would yield to a little careful scooping out and blending in.
Decals look great, in a low/hi vis blend, and this time I am going to get to use four different enamels for the paint scheme – as per call-out.
No cockpit detail at all, though there is a hole. No matter – in 1/144 super detailing is just show-off. No frame bars to paint with this one, either. Woo Hoo!
Note of thanks to Academy – even in 1/144 they mould parts that fit without putty. And they make accurate gear doors.
