Got for a very low price in a plastic freezer bag, this FROG Avenger of 1973 is going to be a beautiful model to build.
The parts photo shows some work already done at the SMCWA clubrooms: cutting and sanding plus Sprue Goo filling of numerous FROG sinkholes. The week’s interval between club dates means the goo will be perfectly hardened.

The ultra detail of modern kits is not present but the parts fit very well indeed, and even the instructions and decals would be welcome in modern short-run kits.

I have been attracted to another livery entirely, so the 50-year-old transfers can be reserved for another time.

This will be my third Grumman Avenger and this time it is an air show aircraft. I have a series of beautiful images taken in the Netherlands when a Aéronavale plane was doing circuits.
