Perth’s Plastic Pedestrians

The big local model exhibitions of every sort happen within different halls – but they have one thing in common:

They are the Aisles of the Blessed. All who wander are not lost, but smart money says most are…

The visitors – and exhibitors – at model exhibitions do not dress especially well. They have other things on their minds besides fashion. They’ll pay to get in and – if the evidence of shopping bags is accurate – to get out again. I did not see the stall with the young lady of Crewe but I bet she was there.

The facial expressions are telling, but in some cases the stories are grim. Unhappy visitors to a model show seem to be missing the point. If they are competitors in the contest and someone has flattened their entry with a meat hammer, well you can see the reason – otherwise you wonder at the sadness.

At least most of the kids are enjoying themselves. They may be a little peeved if they cannot touch the exhibits, but the ability to whine a new model out of their parents more than makes up for it.

Hey – I’m 76 and it works for me…
