Vickers Viscount – Part Two – Dry Fit Morning

When a kit has 18 parts, you do not need to spend much time building…

One morning at the club, with time out for coffee and a slice of cake ( We celebrate birthdays in the correct style…) was all that was needed to assemble the major components of the Viscount.

The surface of the plastic is super-smooth and shiny, but the effects of early moulding processes mean a number of sinkholes and two of the biggest ejector pin marks I have ever seen on the underside of the tailplanes. After the cementation, Sprue Goo for the win, and I’ll leave it overnight to harden up.

The dry fit is remarkably precise, considering the age and crudity of the kit.

The stand is an integral part of this build and will be given love and respect.
