Under three layers of masking tape and two vinyl gloves…
If you can’t stand horror, do not start airbrushing your models. At some stage of the game it will all start to look like a Hammer film. You must screw your courage to the sticking point, open the airbrush valve, and trust to your good angel.
Yes, those are two vinyl gloves kept on the wings with masking tape and rubber bands. The wings had been finished well in silver and I did not fancy taping them entirely for the red window stripe. masking tape is not too dear, but putting it on securely takes a lot of time. The gloves will be re-used.

The scheme is attractive and the red window line quite Canadian. Nothing to do with national feelings – it is likely to be the only part of the plane visible during a blizzard on the prairie. Whether it is sitting on a tarmac or slid into a wheat field, you still need to see it.
