Pitts S2A – Part Two – Canadian Reds

I wonder if someone will pick up on this one at the next WASMex show. Will I get talked to by the committee?

Well, we shall see. If they press me I will say that the sponsors are a fine Canadian company that sponsored a team for air racing and never sells dangerous products. Not like those Rothman’s or Marlborough people…They probably support motherhood and beavers, too.

The model came out beautifully. Perfect fit for the parts, no filler needed, and even the inter-plane struts fitted at first try. I do not choose to rig, but some might be able to do it in this tiny size.

The decals were very slow to release – almost the longest in memory, and some needed a little discreet prying with a wet paintbrush, but in the end they accepted the Mr Hobby Mark Setter and went in well. I was prepared for the worst, with decal glue bottle at the ready.

I was amazed that the main body line stripe could be applied successfully – even in two parts. Some civil schemes frighten the life out of me with their speed lines and graphics.

This will become the star of my ” Airshow Birds ” section of the collection.
