Which is a good thing. If you were, we’d have to dust you.
I once visited a club that concerned itself with collecting die cast models and toys. The people in it were keen in their pursuits and many had amassed quite large collections. They had many models and had spent a good deal of money and time to get them. They were quite proud of them.
And so they might be. The items were colourful, detailed, and made a grand visual impression. Some had divided their collections up into divisions and could tell you all about each piece.
But the meeting of their club was, in many respects, not a meeting of people, or of minds. It was a meeting of collections. One group of shelves talked to another cabinet, with little human interaction. Money often changed hands, but few thoughts other than collecting were heard.
It was a salutary lesson. I have since taken to scale building and collecting, but my interaction with other club members is on a human basis. This may involve friendly conversation or horrible jokes , but there is a human element in action all the time.
