Can A Table Of Modellers Build A Kit?

Yes, if they do not all try to do it at the same time. A dozen pairs of hands in a small cardboard box is a recipe for disaster.

Likewise, a dozen minds making up decisions about colour, marking, fittings, etc…fine if you are making a 1:35 scale model of the Tower Of Babel, but wait until you see how it finishes…

I have discovered that 4 to 6 people at a modelling table is fine, as long as they are working on 4 to 6 models, and are sufficiently interested in their own modelling mat to fall silent now and then as they cut their own fingers.

If they are arguing politics, complaining about their lives, or trying to pretend they know what they are doing, the noise and tension both rise and the amount of work actually done falls.

Silence can, indeed, be golden.
