Stealth Aircraft – Part Two – Painting The No-See-Um

I’ll bet you’re just itching to know what a No-See-Um bite feels like…

The colours of the F 117 and the B2 are quite different, though in both cases the paint is part of the circus trick. The night attack aircraft is very dark grey/black and the strategic bomber nearly as dark, but with gradation and wing markings.

All illustrations are hard to make out and the quality of the decals in this HK kit are never going to make it better. But by painting the broad wing walks lighter grey and then masking them we got stripes. These were re-masked just inside the paint edge and the centre filled with wing grey.

There is only one clear canopy for the bomber, but it’s actually quite a nice fit and very clear – it shows off the blank black cockpit beautifully.
