Hannover CL III A – Part Three – Auferstehung

And not a zombie, either – a good-looking model for the collection.

The Hannover CL IIIA was apparently a success. It could function as an observation or ground attack aircraft and a number of them were successful as fighters when newcomers on the Allied side pulled up behind one, thinking it was a single-seater.

The kit(s) went together very well. The camouflage decals were successful – and the fuselage colour was documented by several sites. The insignia markings were sadly aged, but patience and long soaking got them…more-or-less intact… onto the aircraft.

If I were to try this sort of wing camouflage again I would be tempted to include the crosses as part of the initial inkjet printing.

Now I wish I could find one of the rather rare 1:72 boxes of WW1 aviators. Not likely to show up any time soon, given the Eastern European wars.
