The Junkers 87 used by the Luftwaffe was terrifying enough – but as a captured dive bomber in the hands of Marko and Miloš…Eeeeek.
The aircraft was captured by Yugoslav partisans in Feb 1945 when the two German crew landed by mistake at the wrong airfield. It was subsequently flown in battle by the partisans as part of the fledgling Yugoslav Air Force.
Bits of it still exist in storage in a museum in Belgrade.

The grey paint splotch on the rear of the fuselage is real – they painted over the German code numbers.

My complements to Xtradecal – their sheet of markings I got went down without a hitch. Also kudos to Airfix for a memorable Christmas kit.

Note that this Santa Claus buys his own kits and sends in a bill to the rest of the family. They do not have to fight the hobby shop crowds and I do not have to build out-of-scale oddities.

Win/win.
- Note: I did not bend the wings. They came that way.
