vs ” Another Sort “.
I assume you all want to be honourable – on the good side of the question – occupying the high moral ground. Pure, simple, clean. People to whom we can all look, and not just up the nose. Styrene Heroes.
Well, what do we need to do to be canonised? How shall we conduct ourselves so as to appear on the Calender of Injection Moulded Saints? Here is a list of desirable characteristics:
a. We should not brag about our stash. Those who are in a less-favourable position ie. people who have to buy food and medicine, would become resentful. We can bring a box the size of a refrigerator to the model club meeting but on no account should we dance around hooting.
b. We should help our fellow modeller. When they are about to use the wrong colour green we should tell them. When they have lost a part on the floor we should help them search for it, even if that means stepping on it. When they have decided it is all too much we should help them find the bin.
c. We should hold only to the purest and highest standard that can be achieved with the three after-market kits we bought. Anything better than this is just ostentation and swank.
e. We should clean out the club airbrush. At least once a quarter.
f. We should welcome new members who may have money. Old members who are financially exhausted can be put out on the verge for the council to deal with. Sentimentality is pointless…
