Or is that Minicraft?
The box for this old B-17 lists both companies and a recent announcement from Academy in South Korea says that the assets of this older American company have been acquired by them. This box looks to be slightly old and slightly squashed and the instructions date the Academy sheet at 1992.

As it is a freebie left at SMCWA I shall just accept whatever comes out and be grateful.

The sprue trees seem clean, if a little flashy around the propellers. There is hardly enough plastic to form sink marks. At 1/144 there are few details seen on the clear canopy and turrets, either. This will be a bow-pen job.
True to form, I intend to depict it flying with retracted wheels and spinning props. There are no end of schemes for a B-17 depicted on the net but as the decals for this kit seem to still be in good shape, there is no reason not to build to the box art. And why not try a few different panels in shining or matt aluminium – and a few exhaust stains.
I do not know whether it will be a two-day kit or a few-day kit.
