There is nothing sadder than a dead bird – unless it is a dead scale model blog.

I have followed several of these, though not expecting their demise. They started well, or were going along great guns when I first encountered them…and then just stopped.

I cannot know why. Dread tells me that some of the writers have stopped for health reasons – they were not young people. But some just ceased and are left as an incomplete work. It’s like going to a concert of unfinished symphonies.

Dangerous stuff – unfinished symphonies and incomplete novels invite nosy interference from those who would finish them to their own satisfaction. The author of the original piece not being there to protest, some really odd conclusions may be drawn – and quartered…Try to read some of the botched workovers of Dickens” ” Edwin Drood “.

I still keep these scale model blogs in my records as mementos and look back occasionally – hoping for the mechanism to re-start.

One day there will be an end to this one, but I am hoping it is a long way in the future.
