So Many Hobby Fears Are Futile

So many rumours are false – so many products are unnecessary. It is a wonder we enjoy ourselves at all.

I have heard about many things that will never eventuate…almost as many falsities as the reports of events that never happened in the past. I’m starting to wonder about the stuff that goes on right now, too.

Fortunately when we are engaged in kit building we can suspend the rest of the world for a little time. Oh, it crowds back in when the family starts screeching to be fed or the house catches fire, but at least there are periods when we can be in our little world. We pay enough for entry into it so it’d be nice if we could have a good time there.

One of the best ways to do this is to accurately assess how good we might do as opposed to how good the kit makers thinks should be done. In the end we make ourself happy by hewing to our own line – as soon as the manufacturer starts to crank in impossibilities we are in trouble. Part of the deal is to learn from experience and avoid the impossible kit.

And lock the hobby room door.
