How could you not love an air force that puts a chicken on their roundel.

After the Entebbe raid in the 70’s Uganda got a transfusion of ex-Soviet and Warsaw Pact aircraft including this Czech L-29 Delfin.

The net says that it was used as a training aircraft with occasional military operations. Whether that meant attacking foreign enemies or shooting up rival tribesmen in the country itself is not stated. Given that this was once the land of Idi Amin, I can make my own guesses.

Still, the KP kit has come out very well for its simple nature. The cockpit without the pilots would have been unbearably bare, as the seats are no better than plastic shelves

However the landing gear fits, there is a lot of panel detail, and the canopy is clear, if thick.Even the aged decals finally released and snuggled down well.
Bring on those opposing tribesmen…
