Do you get out enough? Is your diet adequate?
It seems these days that every thing is a spiritual experience – and that can be a damned blessing…You may just fancy a walk through the park – some people would have you commune with nature and a deity until you need to sit down. It is all very well to be spiritual but these days you want to watch what you are stepping on – a lot more people have little dogs.
I have heard of modellers using their craft to reminisce about things; history, relations, childhood and youth, etc. This is fine if you are using your own history to be nostalgic about, and if you can be honest with yourself. In this respect, it is good that some kit makers have purchased worn-out moulds and re-popped historic kits – the sentimental builder can be trapped into building what were bad kits back then and have remained bad kits now.
I have observed modellers using their craft for political statements. I use a small pencil in a voting booth for mine, but each to their own. At least I am secretive about mine and it doesn’t cost me $300 plus aftermarket. And no-one tells me I have used the wrong green.
I guess the closest I get to spiritual is the lift when the kit is done and photographed. As long as I don’t drop it, I can be happy for a while.
