The Commander Of Leftover Air Base

The home of the 103rd Tactical Kit Boxes. Our motto: ” What The Heck Is This? “

It is a heavy responsibility to be the grate at the bottom of the scale modelling drain. To be the hobbyist that follows the parade of kits with a broom and a shovel. To be the person under whom nothing is beneath.

It is economical, I’ll give you that. When people donate their unwanted kits – or the detritus of a legacy – you are freed from the tyranny of the price sticker. The hobby shop may have asked $ 80 for the kit of a starting trolley, and someone else may have answered that call, but by the time it gets to you reality has set in. You need not pretend that it is value for money.

It is also a stimulating sport. You may never have wanted to build a model of a Czech flying bordello before, but the opportunity to do so now will free your spirit. If nothing else, it will send you off on an internet search to see if the thing on the sprue trees ever actually existed.

Note: some kits are valuable for the parts and some for the sprue runners…
