The Auster is going well. The build is not taxing, as sight of the sprue trees probably suggested.
It is going well enough, indeed, to suggest that it might be a good return build for another form. One doesn’t get a great deal of detail, but then I don’t think Auster or Taylorcraft put a lot of complexity into the real aircraft in the first place.
The alterations have been miniscule – new exhaust pipes and collector and the decision to lop off the clear teardrop dome above the crew seats. The ugly hole will be tarped over.
And the rudimentary pegs in the cabin will be replaced with a proper seat and stick plus some radio gear. Early Airfix could be crude at best.
