The Little World

Jeez, I hope not.

Lots of things in life are; institutions, clubs, professions. Families, religions, nations, tribes. Trades, towns, and teams. You might get in or you might not, and it often depends on others’ say-so.

Whatever hobby you select ( or whichever selects you…) settle on one that lets everyone in; the elite as well as the duffer. It is the only way to have an easy mind in social contact. You need not pal up with everyone, but don’t take on a contract to make enemies.

And do not feel that interest in your hobby has to exclude other things from your mind. I take photographs and make videos, build scale models, and write columns and newsletters as hobbies. I’ve built R/C boats and doll houses. I run a toy train set at my studio. All these are fun and they all please me at different times – and these frequently overlap.

Never forbid yourself to have a good time.
