MiG-29 Fulcrum – Part Two – Thinking Behind

Thinking behind is opposite from thinking ahead and has different rules.

a. You are not meant to feel good.

b. You are not going to do a good job.

c. The language is different. Shorter and sharper…

My second lesson in second thinking came when I had closed up the fuselage of he MiG-29. It fitted very well and went together with very thin cement – the cockpit tub located onto two little plugs and was all that one could wish.

But my game plan for the Fifty Cent Fighters is to have them flying on display stands with their gear up. So that means doors closed, and in the case of this MiG the doors should really have been put in before the top and bottom of the fuselage were joined.

I did succeed – barely – in getting the doors in, but they would have been a sight cleaner and neater had I done them first. In the future 1/144 models I will make sure the best assembly option has been scouted before the cement bottle comes out.
