Which is the most important part of the theatre?
If you know, tell me. I am trying to decide the same thing about the modelling exhibitions that are held annually in Perth. Whether they are of cars, boats, trains, planes or houses, they all have essentially three components; those who show, those who they show for, and those they show to.
There is a flow of money, as there always is with any venture. It is out of the pockets of the audience into those of some of the exhibitors. Some of them do it for no fee – spending their own cash on vendor’s products or entry fees. They also spend heavily in making the items that are exhibited. Very little of that is ever recouped, but then that is written off as legitimate expenses of the hobbies.
Is the flow diverted at any time? Well, I suppose the charges for halls and insurances are outflows that never return. No salaries seem to be taken. And there are often expensive prizes given to skilled modellers.
