Are you at an impasse?
Have you built yourself out of a hobby? Are you standing in the hobby shop but not feeling the buzz?
Relax – it happens to all of us one time or another. The people who have a lot of spare hobby money to burn have it happen a lot more than you’d think. They buy up big, and then wonder what more they can buy. If they build big the thing can be kept at bay, but eventually it comes.
What to do? Quit? Redo your last 16 Messerschmitts? Or think out of the end-opening cardboard box with the art on top…
There is some division of some scale modelling genre that you have not done yet. I don’t care how long you say you have been in the game or how many knife scars you have on your thumb, there is something different waiting.
New scale? New collection? New diorama or layout? New structure? New material? New painting system? Working model? Working features? New operational skill? New club? New challenges.
Walk down a different aisle of the hobby shop with your eyes closed. Put out your hand and pick up whatever it first encounters. Take that to the till and pay for it…then take it home and build it.
Your thumbs will just have to wait to heal
