Mil-24 Hind F – Part One – WA Salvage

They no fancy, but they cheap…

And even cheaper when the kit in question – a Hong Hong cheapie to begin with – is dumped n a container load in WA and eventually ends up on the shipwreck shelf at the scale model club. Unbuilt, unloved, unappreciated. Just the thing for the kit-whisperer.

The Kitech company must have put a lot of effort into their products but the only examples that I’ve seen have been throw-aways. I’ve built a passable USMC Bell Viper from one of these donations and it was acually fun – once you realised that helicopters do not fly because of streamlining. they lend themselves to marginal kit makers…

Well the sprue trees were both detailed and difficult, No bad flash, but big gates. The clear parts are the weakest mould but should be acceptable if the hatches are left open – otherwise they would highlight bad fit.

There is a usable instruction sheet and a tiny decal sheet – I will not need more than two patterns from it – this helicopter will be dedicated to a modern war and internet images. My chief concern with this sort of research is separating the AI and video game images from actual pictures.
