And waiting a long time.
I once built a Pyro model of the steamboat ROBERT E LEE. It was a gift at Christmas and possibly the largest thing I’d tackled at the time – the sort of model that a rural shop might stock but not hope to sell. I’ll bet the shopkeeper breathed a sigh of relief.

I recently saw the twin of this kit built by a club mate. It was titled NATCHEZ but I think it was the same mould with different artwork. I was pleased to help him as the original decals had been lost – the kit must be 70 years old by now, Fortunately there was an illustration on the side of he old box that could be scanned and blown up to provide a guide.

The fact that this old Pyro survived – and there are companies who re-pop material from very old moulds – gives me hope that there may be some HK re-issue of the other steamboat.
Indeed I also long for the Revell OLYMPIA and some of their US-factory naval and cargo ships. They may not have been perfect when I was a kid but then neither was I.
