Ural Starter Truck – Part One – Packed To The Gills.

I rarely look at YouTube videos centred around unpacking new equipment.

It is a genre of the medium that saddens me – but then I saw so much of it in retail trade that I recognize fan-boy symptoms right away. I used to dread them as I knew that they would fixate upon their purchase to the point of madness and any little flaw would start the end of the world.

The manufacturers knew this as well, and invented ever more complex boxing and presentation to please the geeks. The Japanese were the greatest practitioners, followed by the Germans. Lately the Chinese firms have been following suit.

But back to the Hobby Boss Ural. A buy for my little airport – a starter truck that has been in use since the 1970’s. The kit looks to be quite detailed once you get through the polystyrene and clear wrap. I take the one-piece frame with suspension moulded on as a real boon – many of my past airport vehicles have motored on 5 of 6 wheels…

Even PE and real rubber tyres in this box – Hobby Boss are value for money every time. And Glory Be! – internet searching has turned up one in Taganrog that is not painted a dull army green. I can make it colourful without breaking ranks.
