That’s good enough for home.

This Italeri kit is probably based upon an early model JAS 39 Gripen. Since its introduction into the Swedish Air Force it has been sold to the Czech Republic, Hungary, and South Africa. Did you wish to add a modern aircraft to your collection for these services, there are decals on the sheet.

However, expect to go either blind or mad applying them. They are the extreme-lo-vis variety. A selection of grey shades that match those of the basic paint scheme. You can make them out if you know where to look – leaving opponents of the Swedes with little option when encountering them in a dog fight: either shoot everything down that you are not personally riding, or go real close and lick the wing. If it tastes like meatball gravy, fire away.

The kit is excellent – very little flash, no sink marks, and few gaps. The instructions are complete – the colour-call out suitably uninspiring. As far as the decal sheet goes, if you drop it on a grey floor you will never see it again.
