I will be fair – the overall fit of the Italeri Mirage 2000C is superb – most of the panels abut each other perfectly. The only horrors are on the leading edge of the wing near the air intakes. Even the most blasé of builders could hardly ignore them.

Sprue Goo to the rescue, of course and in the case of the deepest canyon, a fill of super-glue and baking soda as well. As you can see, the result is all that could be desired.

The next question is one of workflow – is it better to attach the ordnance pylons before the final paint layers and decals? I have taken the punt on it as the decals do not interfere with the wing. The advantage of getting them on while the surface is clean outweighs the worry of knocking them off later. The actual rockets and tanks are a different matter.
