Soviet Hound – Part Two – A Day’s Work

Since I retired a second time I have been busy being idle.

It is a damned hard thing – you no sooner turn around than another thing falls off the house or someone comes to the door bleeding. It is no good slamming it shut and heading for the drinks trolley – eventually they will get in through the window.

I keep busy by building scale models, and some – like this Hobby Boss helicopter – reward me magnificently. I am starting to suspect I have neglected the HB shelf to my discredit and will need to start buying more of their products.

I spent the SMCWA Tuesday ” Morning Of Maximum Peril ” – complete with someone’s birthday cake and a loud political discussion – assembling the interior of this helicopter. It might seem small beans, but I like beans. The parts fit beautifully, and they could be assembled awaiting a coat of paint – the colour call-out for a previous helicopter was clear about this and I see no need to change the hue. The Soviets would have had only so much paint and I suspect there was no such thing as a ” Wrong Green ” or ” Wrong Blue “.

Look at the photo evidence – the darned thing fits inside the fuselage half even before it is detached from the sprue tree. Add some paint and next week it is on to windows.

We know how to live round our house…
