Fresh from 1973, mind – courtesy of Airfix’s Vintage Classics range.
This is fresh this week from the local shop, and at a price that seems laughably low. I have just this sense of humour, so I grabbed it and chortled my way to the till.

The opening of the old-style box was not a disappointment. This moulding is free of flash and very promising. The decals are new, as, I suspect, is the artwork for the instructions. And there is a feature that is particularly welcome.

There are two jig mouldings that position the top wing in relation to the bottom when the inter-plane struts are to be cemented. This sort of assistance was last seen in the newer Be2C model from the same firm, and is a great help in alignment. I wonder if this is a later addition to the ’73 kit?

Of course it will sell in Australia as one of decoration options has the word ” ANZAC ” on the side of the fuselage. I wonder if the RSL has demanded a cut…?
