Convair 440 – Part Five – Good Customer Service

Those of you who have read the previous episodes of the Convair 440 might have thought me prejudiced about it. I hope not, because I have just had a wonderful example of good business behaviour.

One of the propellers of the kit was a short-shot – the plastic did not go out into one blade. A small technical error.

I wrote to M. Palix at Mach 2 in France and sent a photo of the defective part. By return airmail he has sent me a replacement propeller. The kit building need not be abandoned nor any drastic measures taken.

This is excellent customer service by any measure, and I can see that it will dispose me favourably to this firm in the future. They have a number of unique models advertised on the side panel of the kit box and I am now going to actively search for them in Australian hobby shops.

Vive le Mach 2.
