Avro Tutor – Part Two – So Far, So Good

The assembly of the AZ Avro Tutor so far is encouraging. the fuselage is straight and the interior built up nicely – I even managed the photo-etch seat belts as the cockpit is open. The landing gear is solid once the three struts are braced against each other.

The tail wheel will never last – it is far too fragile in this scale. I am going to replace it with a skid and not feel bad at all.

The lower wings, as well, are cause for worry. the attachment points on the fuselage are vague flats with no support at all. I have decided to drill and pin them. It is a surprisingly easy thing to do for these kits and the careful setup means you get a straight seam.
