I must complement Valom. They are not terminally annoying. The fuselage halves for the Dassault Ouragan fit with few gaps. The wings go together sweetly – very little fettling in the landing gear well. The nose intake splitter and tailpipe are paragons of precision.
Then there is the cockpit…
It is well-moulded and reasonably proportioned but the drawing that shows the fit of the side panels to the base has the plates transposed. If you build what they draw, the cockpit is upside down. Internet to the rescue and there are reasonable views of the MD 450 – enough to do it correctly. There is further pain if you try to fit the instrument panel the way it is seen on the kit instructions. But google your way clear.
The actual fit of the tub into the fuselage is decent – no major cutting to get the halves closed. It will never be seen too clearly, but a little dry brushing on dark grey sees it painted. And i must be getting better with PE because the seatbelts have gone in easily.
Lead weight next and the fuselage should be together tomorrow. I have no confidence in the nose gear but there is a plan to cheat gravity being plotted.
