Well, he is lonely. But to give FROG/Novo their due, he is a pretty good representation of Lindberg dressed in period flying gear.

He gets three slightly foggy windows to peer out of and a hard plastic seat, but then the real aircraft has a wicker seat in it that doesn’t look much better. The cockpit is so dark you’ll never see that it has no instruments at all.

Again I must praise the mould makers – the various struts that support the wing and landing gear are produced well and have cleaned up and dropped into their allotted spots very squarely and precisely. The trick will be to blow the paints around them to reach the fuselage and underside of the wing evenly – fortunately white undercoat and shiny silver are easy to paint on.

Let us pray that the aged decals will separate cleanly and not fragment when it comes time to set them down. I may coat them with a strengthening solution before I try.
