Morane Saulnier MS 230 – Part Four – The First Of The Few

The Morane Saulnier MS 230 trainer is ready to fly. The cadets of the RRAAF will finally have their own aircraft.

It has been especially blessed by the Bishop of Strelsau – a comfort to the cadets. This was not possible at Hentzau Field, of course, but His Reverence blessed the individual parts as they were packed for shipment and this will be just as good.

The flying instructors will be drawn from a rota at RCAF WET DOG every week after Defaulters. Also known as Junkers jankers, the flying syllabus for the RRAAF cadets will be remarkably similar to that for the BCATP trainees, with the exception that a successful landing will be recorded whenever the aircraft actually hits the runway with the tyres.

Three landings without death will be considered enough for any Ruritanian to be given their wings and put on the train home.

The kit itself has been a delight, and it encourages me to look for more Smēr kits to build.
