The point of time when we have an airplane. One that encloses a well fitted wheel well complex, a nose weight, and a cockpit tub. Wings on, tail on, tip tanks on.
It went surprisingly fast as the day wore on. The Sword kits are basically quite good – they are square and plumb. This one had some aggressive ejector marks that came to the exterior as raised crescents of plastic. Easy to trim away.

No locating pins for the fuselage, of course – but with a good fit this is not a problem. As advised by John Evans, I now tack the fuselage halves with some thick glue to let me shuffle the seams as closely as possible – then weld them shut progressively with the very thin cement. The cleanup with scrapers is very much easier.

It’s always good to get to this stage at the end of the evening – you can go to bed legitimately satisfied with the day’s work and not be tempted to poke the plane before the cement sets. Hint: Lock the hobby room door to keep the cat out.
