What? Straight out of the box? No complicated build? No sheet of arcane decals? No aftermarket resin kit? Just the thing you bought off the shelf? What sort of a monster are you?
A tired one. Tired of the bullshit of trying to re-make every single kit into something weird. Tired of having to second-guess myself when I look at the parts.
This kit was to be a massive re-build – new wings and new engine and new paint scheme. Then it was downgraded to a new paint job and a complex story. Finally I decided to be honest with myself and just build what I’d bought.
This was not a decision based upon passion or scientific research – it was based upon the realisation that I sometimes make too much of too little. When I need to explain something to myself for 15 minutes before it makes sense, it is too complex. So I shall just cement it together and paint the colour call-out.
The kit is made by Czech Sneeze but is a re-issue of a Heller kit. This is no bad thing – I did a re-boxed Heller with the Potez and was thoroughly delighted. I am betting the decal sheet with this one is far better than Polish printing would be.

Note the delicate parts. Britmodeller says they are inaccurate, but then Britmodeller complained to the people in Duxford that their Spitfire wasn’t authentic enough. Quite frankly, they would complain about the authenticity if the skeleton of Sailor Malan was propped up in the cockpit… Britmodellers are fine people but ask them to take off their anoraks when they come in the house.
In any case, it will give me a chance to compare the experience of the Ju52 with that of the Italeri example. This one will be a Czech airliner made from a French Toucan product. With RLM 02 paint on it.
Hey, they used what they had at the time. I’m in the far better position of being five minutes from a hobby shop and with a new credit card.
