I like having cake, but I’ve long since realised that particular pleasure is surpassed by eating it.
Thus my attitude to my stash. I like to see it building up, but I love to see it building down. Construction is a fulfilment of the actual purpose of the kit, and of all the design, manufacture, and commercial effort that put it on my hobby room shelf.
Or put another way, a pantry well-stocked is reassuring but a dinner plate of cooked food is even better.
The heading image is two I bought at the swap meet from people who once bought them as well. The difference is I will build them – and I do not begrudge the extremely reasonable price they were sold for.
There were more that I coveted, but I preserved my capital for the end of the month when there will be an even bigger sale. I cannot build out entirely by then but I can keep plugging away.
